Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver large-scale data analytics solutions as a Software Engineer.
  • Operate at all stages of the software engineering lifecycle.
  • Engage in Agile Scrum-based delivery.
  • Manage stakeholder communications effectively.
  • Utilize ETL tools, databases, and programming languages in projects.
  • Implement DevOps culture and modern engineering practices.

Key Skills:

  • Experience with ETL toolsets (Talend, Pentaho, SAS DI, Informatica, etc).
  • Knowledge of databases (Oracle, RDS, Redshift, MySQL, Hadoop, Postgres, etc).
  • Familiarity with job scheduling toolsets (Job Scheduler, TWS, etc).
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (PL/SQL, SQL, Unix, Java, Python, Hive, HiveQL, HDFS, Impala, etc).
  • Knowledge of ALM tooling (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Experience with CI/CD toolsets (Gitlab, Jenkins, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with data virtualization tools (Denodo).
  • Experience with reporting tools (Pentaho BA, Power BI, Business Objects, Grafana).
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • Proactive nature with personal drive and enthusiasm.

Job Title: Data Engineer

Rate: £450 per day inside ir35

Duration: 6 months

Location: Telford/hybrid - (2 days on site)

SC security clearance is required for this role

Job Description:

You should have experience as a Software Engineer delivering within large scale data analytics solutions and the ability to operate at all stages of the software engineering lifecycle, as well as some experience in the following;

  • Awareness of Devops culture and modern engineering practices
  • Experience of Agile Scrum based delivery
  • Proactive in nature, personal drive, enthusiasm, willingness to learn
  • Excellent communications skills including stakeholder management

Have experience in some of the following technologies:

  • ETL toolset (Talend, Pentaho, SAS DI, Informatica etc)
  • Database (Oracle, RDS, Redshift, MySQL, Hadoop, Postgres, etc)
  • Job Scheduling toolset (Job Scheduler, TWS, etc)
  • Programming and scripting languages (PL/SQL, SQL, Unix, Java, Python, Hive, HiveQL, HDFS, Impala, etc)
