Summary: The World Class Defence Organisation is seeking two C# / C++ Software Engineer subcontractors for an initial 12-month hybrid contract. Candidates with a mix of C# and C++ experience are welcome, and the role involves developing advanced defence systems through simulation technologies. The position requires collaboration with project leads and simulation architects to create simulation components in a synthetic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop simulation components representing weapon systems in a synthetic environment using C# and C++.
• Collaborate with project leads and simulation architects to support the development of advanced defence systems.
• Integrate real products, models, and synthetic environments for visualisations, demonstrations, verification, and validation.
• Participate in an agile development team to develop simulations and representations of real equipment.
• Implement software development practices including configuration control, continuous integration, and unit testing.

Key Skills:

• Proficient in C# and C++.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Eclipse.
• Ability to translate high-level/system views into technical details.
• Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with distributed simulation standards/protocols (DIS, HLA, DDS) and web services development (JavaScript, Node JS or similar) is a plus.
• Understanding of military communications, datalinks, and interfaces such as 1553/1760 and Ethernet TCP/IP.
• Practical knowledge of system integration principles and processes.
