Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Cardiff, is currently looking to recruit a Software Developer (SQL) (DBA) for an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of 167.07/day (Inside IR35). This role will be working from home.
Responsibilities:
- Working as part of a well-structured Scrum teams, under the guidance of experienced team leads, you shall take responsibility for delivering individual software components. You shall have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of MS SQL to ensure a performant operational environment.
Essential Skills:
- Degree in an IT discipline or equivalent experience
- Experience in writing complex data manipulation statements using T-SQL as stored procedures and functions.
- Experience in monitoring, maintenance and tuning of high-volume operational databases
- Experience in normalisation techniques and ER-diagramming to design and create scalable, high-performance databases
- Familiarity and experience with SQL Server Management Studio 2008 - 2019
- Experience in Creating, and using, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services packages 2008+.
Desirable Skills:
- Agile development methodologies such as Scrum
- Azure Dev ops (Team Foundation Server)
- Understanding and implementing SOLID principles
- Experience with HL7 v 2.x and FHIR messaging standards
- Redgate SQL developer tools
- Brent Ozar First Responder Kit
- Requirements analysis
- tSQLt - Unit Testing SQL Procedures
- Unix/PowerShell Scripting
- Knowledge of High Availability solutions, such as Mirroring, Replication, Clustering, and Always On (Availability Groups)
- Microsoft Power BI
- Experience of Microsoft SQL Server tools, eg SQL Server Profiler, Query Analyser to help tune queries & create indexes.
- .NET Core
- XML Web services or Web API
