Evolve IT Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced C# Developer for a contract role with our investment management client based in Edinburgh. Working as part of a team that supports Front Office departments you will be responsible for designing and delivering solutions that have a strong customer focus; this will be a mixture of existing and new systems and will utilise your C# development experience extensively. Legacy systems are mainly written in C#/WinForms with Oracle as the main database, however there is also multiple applications written in .NET Core, Angular, and Entity Framework - it would be ideal if you have a solid mixture of all those skills over your previous work. In this role you will engage heavily with stakeholders so previous experience of stakeholder engagement coupled with strong communication skills is ideal; this team is highly collaborative and works to high level of attention-to-detail so these traits are highly sought after.
In terms of your technical experience, what we are looking for is:
Essential:
- C# development experience
- .NET Core/Entity Framework experience
- ASP.NET/Angular
- WinForms or WPF experience SQL Server or Oracle experience
- Excellent working practices regarding processes and source control (Azure Devops, Git or similar)
- Agile/Scrum/Kanban experience
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable:
- AI tooling experience such as GitHub CoPilot or Cursor
- SOA experience with Azure/Docker/Kubernetes
The role is based hybrid in central Edinburgh, if you are applying from an area not realistically commutable to Edinburgh it is expected that you will relocate to Edinburgh for the duration of the contract.
