Summary: The role of Software Developer - C#/.NET & React involves supporting modern application development and maintaining legacy systems within a growing organization. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment using a modern Microsoft stack, including React for front-end development. The developer will be responsible for both new feature development and the ongoing improvement of existing applications. Candidates must be based locally to Leeds and will work in a hybrid arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain applications using C#/.NET (Core & Framework)
- Build and enhance responsive Front End applications using React
- Support and maintain existing VB.NET applications
- Develop and maintain VBA-based automation tools and solutions
- Work closely with stakeholders and business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full application stack
- Produce clean, maintainable and well-documented code
Key Skills:
- Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET
- Solid React development experience, including hooks, state management and component architecture
- Experience maintaining and enhancing Legacy VB.NET applications
- Experience working with VBA, ideally within Excel and/or Access
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and integrations
- Experience using Git version control
- Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience working with SQL Server, MySQL and Oracle databases
- Experience using MediatR
- Experience writing and maintaining Unit Tests

We're currently working with a growing organisation looking to bring in an experienced Software Developer to support a mix of modern application development and Legacy system maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for a contractor who enjoys working across a broad technical landscape, contributing to both new feature development and the ongoing improvement of existing systems.
You'll be joining a collaborative development environment, working across a modern Microsoft stack with React on the Front End, while also supporting applications built in VB.NET and VBA.
