Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software architecture for backend solutions on Google Cloud (GCP).
- Write code, conduct testing, and ensure quality assurance throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Lead development reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to best practices.
- Manage multiple complex assignments with minimal direction while guiding junior team members.
- Collaborate with teams to define and optimize CI/CD pipelines for backend deployments.
- Demonstrate commitment to delivering high-quality, performant results within a regulated financial environment.
- Utilize Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) methodologies.
Key Skills:
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git/GitHub.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks such as JUnit.
- Experience with Jetbrains products (e.g., IntelliJ IDEA).
- Understanding of code quality analysis tools like SonarQube.
- Experience with security testing tools such as Checkmarx and software supply chain security platforms like Cycode.
- Commitment to architectural standards and processes in large-scale organizations.

The finance and banking division of this engineering company and household name is seeking a Software Engineer, Software Developer Software Architect to be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs.
The Software Architect will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle including designing software architecture, writing code, testing for quality. They are particularly interested in Version control systems (e.g. Git/GitHub) and CI/CD tools (e.g. Cloudbuild), including defining and optimising pipelines for backend deployments
