Summary: The role of a Qualified Social Worker in the children's disability team involves providing support and advice to families with children up to 18 years old. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and signposting to families within the children's disability team.

- Maintain compliance with National Policies related to children's social care.
Key Skills:

SW Locums need a Qualified Social Worker for this role that sits in the children's disability team (children up to 18 years old). Experience of working in this team is essential Hybrid working but there will be some office days to be agreed as some of the role will also to offer advice and signposting to families.
Candidates must have a recognised professional Social Work Qualification – eg DipSW, CQSW or equivalent and either hold a Practice Educator qualification and/or be willing to achieve this qualification within first year of employment.
You must also hold right to work in the UK, a minimum of 3 years post qualified social work experience in a permanent role in the UK in a similar statutory setting to meet DfE guidelines and hold active Social Work England registration.
Essential requirements and experience:
- Must have substantial and demonstrable experience of working as a qualified social worker within a statutory Children’s Social Care setting.
- Must have experience of working within the framework of The 1989 Children Act, Adoption and Children Act 2002, Children Act 2004; and other relevant legislations including Working Together 2013.
- Must have experience of working within National Policies and development relating to children social care as they impact on children and their family.
- Must have demonstrable knowledge and experience in the application of relevant theoretical frameworks, practice models, research finding and the application of psychological and human development theories.
- Must have demonstrable knowledge or demonstrate the ability to acquire the skills and ability to facilitate the learning of students, supporting newly qualified social workers in practice.
- Knowledge and experience as set out in the Senior Social Workers’ Skills and Competency Framework for Social Workers.
