Summary: The role of Snr Linux Engineer involves working with a leading SaaS and technology company to design, build, implement, and support innovative Linux systems. The position requires expertise in Linux administration, Ansible, Packer, and AWS, with a focus on system availability, performance, reliability, and security. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects while taking ownership of tasks. The contract is for an initial 6 months and is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:

Key Skills:
- Proven experience in Linux administration and engineering.
- Understanding of RPM packaging, systems, networking, and storage.
- Knowledge of Ansible and DevOps methods.
- Skills in Packer, including HCL/JSON templates.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD processes.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to lead work and drive projects forward.

Snr Linux Engineer - £600+ per day - SaaS
Our client is a leading SaaS and technology company, building innovative solutions for Data Management, Analytics and Machine Learning. They’re looking to hire an experienced Linux Engineer and experience across Ansible, Packer and AWS. 2 days a week in the office, hybrid, inital 6 months, inside IR35 and paying up to £600 per day.
From day one you’ll be involved in the design, build, implementation and support of innovative Linux systems with a focus on availability, performance, reliability, and security - From bare-metal through to virtualisation, AWS Cloud and automation. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a range of projects, tools and technologies and have real ownership of your work – A very varied challenge!
Requirements:
- Proven experience of Linux administration and engineering
- Great understanding of RPM packaging, systems, networking and storage
- Knowledge of Ansible and DevOps methods
- Packer skills - HCL / JSON templates, builder vs. provisioner distinction etc
- Strong CI/CD understanding
- Excellent communication skills and a motivated, proactive, approach to work
- The ability to take the lead on work and drive projects forwards
