Summary: The SMT Process Engineer role is a contract position based in West Sussex, requiring an experienced professional to support electronics manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support existing processes in a busy electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Utilize strong SMT expertise from design through to production.
  • Work hands-on with PCBA assembly, reflow ovens, and wave soldering.
  • Operate pick & place machines, screen printers, and conduct reflow profiling.
  • Sourcing, commissioning, and improving manufacturing equipment.

Key Skills:

  • Strong expertise in SMT / Surface Mount technology.
  • Hands-on experience with PCBA assembly and soldering techniques.
  • Familiarity with pick & place machines and screen printers.
  • Ability to source and commission manufacturing equipment.

Contract SMT Process Engineer West Sussex | Up to £60/hr (Outside IR35) | 6 months (initial) | ASAP Start

Our client is a busy electronics manufacturing business looking for an experienced SMT Process Engineer to join their team for an initial 6 month contract. This is an urgent requirement.

Location: Onsite in Burgess Hill (option to work hours across 4 days)

Contract length: 6 month initial contract, extendable or contract-to-perm

Experienced required:

  • A Process Engineer with strong SMT / Surface Mount expertise, from design through to production
  • Hands-on with PCBA assembly, reflow ovens, and wave soldering
  • Experienced with pick & place machines, screen printers, and reflow profiling
  • A Process Engineer confident in sourcing, commissioning, and improving manufacturing equipment
  • A Process Engineer who can hit the ground running and support existing processes in a busy environment
