Summary: The Smart Ticketing Test Manager will oversee the testing and integration of a Smart Ticket project for a high-profile railway client in Birmingham. This role involves managing the configuration and deployment of various ticketing systems and executing test strategies for ITSO-enabled devices. The successful candidate will work closely with the PAYG Programme Manager to ensure effective testing and implementation. This is a contract position lasting until March 2026, requiring expertise in smart ticketing systems and rail fare changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create test strategies for rail fare system changes.
  • Create test strategies for ITSO enabled ticketing devices.
  • Develop a detailed test plan in conjunction with the PAYG Programme Manager.
  • Execute the test strategy and plan, providing guidance and support to the testing team.
  • Manage configuration of existing and deployment of new rail platform validators, Automatic Ticket Gates, Revenue Inspection Devices, Delay Repay functionality, and Ticket Office Machines.

Key Skills:

  • Expertise in Smart Ticketing Systems.
  • Extensive ITSO smartcard rail testing experience.

Are you an expert in Smart Ticketing Systems? If so, TXM Recruit are working in partnership with a high-prraofile railway client who are looking for a Smart Ticketing Test Manager to join their team located in Birmingham to oversee the testing and integration of a Smart Ticket project on a contract basis. We are seeking an experienced smart ticketing expert to help deliver the testing phase of an ITSO offering across a rail network, this will introduce a Pay as You GO (PAYG) tap-in/tap-out capability to many stations. The successful applicant will be key in managing configuration of existing, and/or the deployment of new rail platform validators (PVALs), Automatic Ticket Gates (ATGs), Revenue Inspection Devices (RIDs), Delay Repay functionality and Ticket Office Machines (TOMs)/Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs)/Ticket Issuing Systems (TISs).

Key Requirements:

  • Creating Test strategies for rail fare system changes
  • Creating Test strategies for ITSO enabled ticketing devices
  • Develop a detailed test plan in conjunction with the PAYG Programme Manager
  • Execute the Test strategy and plan, providing guidance and support to the team responsible for completing the actual testing.

We require a Test Lead Subject Matter expertise with extensive ITSO smartcard rail testing experience to join the team and develop and execute appropriate testing to support the above.
