Key Responsibilities:

  • Edge sealing and resin application
  • Operating curing booths and monitoring cure cycles
  • Conducting quality checks using methods such as tape testing, isoscope, and gloss measurements
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organised working environment
  • Maintain high-quality standards and compliance with technical instructions
  • Accurately record time and job costings
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives through efficient, waste-minimising working practices
  • Maintain up-to-date training and approved operator stamps where applicable
  • Participate in team meetings, support colleagues, and assist with training and knowledge sharing
  • Identify and contribute to improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery processes

Key Skills:

  • Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a recognised allied trade
  • Good numeracy, literacy, and the ability to interpret technical documentation

  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
  • Positive, proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach with a willingness to learn
  • Strong timekeeping and work ethic

Working Hours

Early Shift: 06:00-14:15 (Monday-Thursday) / 06:00-12:00 (Friday)

Role Overview

As a Skilled Painter, you'll support the delivery of high-quality metallic and composite aircraft components and assemblies in accordance with local manufacturing instructions and specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Masking components to technical drawings and plans
  • Mixing and applying specialist fillers and paint schemes (primer, topcoat, anti-abrasion, gloss)
  • Manual abrading and orbital sanding

You'll work with minimal supervision, taking personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work while actively contributing to a proactive, safety-focused, and collaborative team environment.
