Summary: The Skilled Mechanical Fitter role at PE Global involves assembling pump and mixer equipment for a leading multinational client in the oil and gas sector. This initial 3-month contract position offers the potential for permanent employment and requires adherence to technical specifications and safety standards during the assembly process. Candidates must possess relevant mechanical engineering qualifications and experience, particularly in non-automotive machinery. The role emphasizes collaboration, quality assurance, and accurate reporting of work performed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble Pump & Mixer equipment whilst working to company procedures
- Fitting of components and/or modules as directed by engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Work closely with colleagues during build/install to ensure a smooth and efficient build process
- Conduct production tests to established procedures and complete accurate test reports
- Ensure all components being assembled are fit for purpose
- Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place
- Operate equipment in a safe manner, producing products that conform to quality specifications
- Record work carried out for tracking purposes
Key Skills:
- Time-served apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, equivalent to City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 (essential)
- HNC / HND qualified or equivalent, with a Mechanical Engineering bias (desirable)
- Mechanical fitter experience in valves, machinery building, compressors, etc., excluding automotive
- Experience of PC pumps and wastewater product assemblies (desirable)
- Mechanical Seal knowledge (desirable)
- Extensive experience of PC pumps and wastewater products, preferably within a service background (desirable)
- Computer literacy, including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook (essential)
- Manual handling training / Slinging & Lifting Training (essential)
- HSE awareness (essential)
- Basic Electrical experience (desirable)
- Motor Wiring certified (desirable)
