Posted 1 day ago by BTP Recruit

About the Role

We are recruiting a Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering subcontractor on a high-profile project in South London. Working directly alongside an experienced PM, you will take ownership of setting out high-finish external works, elevated roof terraces, and podium structures, while acting as the technical link between drawings and physical installation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Precision Setting Out: Drive lines, pins, and control points for high-spec external paving, structural finishes, podium slabs, and associated groundworks.
  • Technical QA & RFIs: Rigorously review structural and architectural drawings, identify design clashes early, and draft concise Request for Information (RFI) documents to resolve discrepancies.
  • Quality Control: Manage on-site QC inspections, sign-off check sheets, verify tolerances, and ensure all works strictly align with project specifications.
  • Site Management Support: Assist the Project Manager with material take-offs, concrete ordering, permits to dig, and subcontractor coordination on a restricted footprint.

Requirements

  • Minimum HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable track record managing high-finish external works and structural podium packages.
  • Highly proficient with modern total stations and reading complex CAD/DWG drawings.
