Summary: The Site Reliability Engineer role focuses on maintaining and optimizing large-scale, customer-facing platforms, ensuring their reliability and performance. The position involves hands-on work with CDN, cloud infrastructure, and modern SRE practices. The engineer will be responsible for enhancing automation and observability within a dual-CDN environment. This is a 6-month contract role based in London, paying up to £650 per day inside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating and optimising CDN platforms across a dual-vendor setup (Fastly & Akamai)
  • Working with edge logic (routing, caching, headers, traffic management)
  • Building and managing infrastructure using Terraform and automation tooling
  • Running and improving Kubernetes platforms in production
  • Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Driving automation to reduce operational toil and improve efficiency
  • Supporting distributed data and caching platforms (Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, etc.)
  • Enhancing observability using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog and CloudWatch

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience in SRE, DevOps or Platform Engineering roles
  • Solid knowledge of cloud environments (AWS preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
  • Exposure to CDN/edge platforms (Fastly, Akamai or similar)
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling and automation
  • Strong Scripting skills (Bash, Python or similar)
  • Experience working with distributed systems or data platforms (Kafka, Redis, etc.)

We're hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to join a high-impact engineering team responsible for keeping large-scale, customer-facing platforms reliable, scalable and fast. This is a hands-on role working across CDN/edge, cloud infrastructure and modern SRE practices.

You'll play a key role in ensuring performance and reliability across a dual-CDN environment, while helping to evolve automation, observability and platform engineering capabilities.
