Summary: The role of Freelance Site Manager involves overseeing construction projects across County Durham, Teesside, and North Yorkshire, specifically focusing on Groundworks, Roads & Sewers, and Plotworks. The Site Manager will be responsible for full site management, liaising with senior management, and ensuring project delivery from setup to handover. Key responsibilities include managing site operations, updating project programmes, and coordinating with delivery teams and subcontractors. The position requires relevant experience in site management and civil engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full management of site, reporting to and liaising with a Contracts Manager & Construction Director.
- Leading projects from early site setup through to handover.
- Ensure programmes are reviewed and updated.
- Completing daily site diaries.
- Ordering materials for site.
- Ensure RAMS are written and updated.
- Progress meetings with senior management and client.
- Overseeing direct delivery teams and sub-contractors.
Key Skills:
- Experience working as Site Agent or Site Manager.
- Experience managing projects from cradle to grave.
- Detailed experience with: Roads, Sewers, S278 works, Foundations, Kerbing and Drainage.
- SMSTS, Temporary Works, Appointed Person, First Aid.
- Engineering background, working from Site Engineer to Site Agent (nice to have).
- Degree qualified or HNC/HND qualified within civil engineering (nice to have).
