Summary: The Site Manager will oversee a refit project in Seaham, ensuring all on-site activities are executed efficiently and to high-quality standards. This role involves planning, coordinating, and managing teams while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and client communication. The position requires a strong background in refit projects and effective leadership skills. The project duration is estimated at 4 to 6 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage all site activities for refit projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that the refit project is progressing according to the agreed schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Manage and lead the on-site construction team, including subcontractors, laborers, and other site personnel.
  • Monitor the quality of work, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards and in line with project specifications.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain communication with clients, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns or issues that arise on-site.
  • Oversee the procurement and delivery of materials and equipment, ensuring that everything is on-site when needed and is handled properly.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, progress reports, and safety documentation.
  • Address and resolve any issues that arise on-site, including technical, logistical, and personnel challenges.
  • Monitor and manage project costs, ensuring that the project stays within budget and meets deadlines.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager, Construction Manager, or similar role, particularly on refit or renovation projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, site management, and project delivery methods.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to site challenges.
  • CSCS card and SMSTS certification are highly desirable.
