The Role
The Site Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the works, working closely with the Project Manager, design team, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
The successful candidate will need a strong understanding of the London construction market, including permits, delivery restrictions, access requirements and complex site logistics.
You must be comfortable managing multiple trades and driving progress on a technically challenging, fast-paced programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of the project
- Coordinating subcontractors, specialist contractors and site teams
- Driving the construction programme and maintaining key dates
- Managing site logistics, deliveries, access and permits
- Planning and coordinating works within a restricted London location
- Ensuring works are completed safely and to the required quality standards
- Managing short-term programmes, look-ahead schedules and daily activities
- Coordinating with the Project Manager, design team and M&E team
- Chairing subcontractor meetings and daily site briefings
- Monitoring workmanship and resolving site issues
- Completing site inspections, permits and relevant documentation
- Supporting testing, commissioning and handover
- Maintaining high health and safety standards throughout the project
Candidate Requirements
- Previous Site Manager experience on commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects
- Experience working on projects in Central London
- Strong knowledge of London logistics, delivery restrictions and permit procedures
- Proven ability to manage and drive a fast-paced construction programme
- Strong subcontractor and trade management experience
- Experience coordinating technically detailed or heavily serviced projects
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical installations
- Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple work packages simultaneously
