Summary: The role of Site Manager involves overseeing the daily operations of a construction site in Leeming Bar, North Yorkshire, specifically for the development of seven new industrial units. The position requires managing subcontractors, maintaining schedules, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The successful candidate will also be responsible for quality control and documentation throughout the project. This freelance position is expected to last approximately six months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all on-site operations, from initial groundworks to final handover
- Coordinate subcontractors across civils, steelwork, cladding, and internal works
- Maintain programme schedule and drive progress to meet deadlines
- Lead daily briefings and site inductions; enforce H&S standards (RAMS, PPE, etc.)
- Liaise with the client, quantity surveyor, and project manager
- Monitor quality control and snagging
- Keep daily records, site diary, and photographic reports
Key Skills:
- Proven track record managing similar commercial/industrial build projects
- Groundworks and drainage experience
- Steel frame erection experience
- SMSTS
- First Aid at Work
- Temporary Works Ticket
- CSCS Black/White Card – Desirable
