Summary: The Site Manager role involves overseeing the civils and cabling aspects of a high-profile onshore cabling project in Dunbar. Initially hybrid, the position will transition to full-time site-based work in 2025. The Site Manager is tasked with ensuring project efficiency and compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. This role requires strong leadership and risk management skills within the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delegated budget from Project Manager, ensuring delivery of installation scope.
  • Manage installation risks and promote transparency with the Project Manager.
  • Oversee all work within the installation phase, including engineering and testing.
  • Ensure operations comply with laws, regulations, and HSE procedures.
  • Specify needed sub-contractors, ensuring quality and HSE requirements are met.
  • Ensure installation is carried out efficiently within time, resource, and cost constraints.
  • Monitor changes and additional work in accordance with customer contracts.
  • Handle changes, variation orders, and claims from subcontractors and third parties.
  • Quantify changes and claims, reporting to project or department manager as necessary.
  • Issue and maintain budget for the installation scope.
  • Create and maintain a time schedule for the installation scope.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum three years’ experience as Site Manager on medium complexity construction projects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with HVDC Converter Stations is a plus.
  • Understanding of Terms and Conditions typical in Construction Contracts.
  • Experience in Civil Works, Installation, and/or Commissioning activities.
  • Recognized Health, Environment, and Safety certifications and training.
  • Strong leadership, goal-oriented, and able to work under stress.
  • Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
