Summary: The Site Manager role involves overseeing the civils and cabling elements of a high-profile onshore cabling project in Dunbar. Initially hybrid, the position will transition to full-time site-based work in 2025. The Site Manager is responsible for ensuring project efficiency, compliance with HSE parameters, and managing installation risks and budgets. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and be assessed as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the delegated budget from the Project Manager and ensure delivery of the installation scope.
- Oversee installation risks and promote transparency in risk management with the Project Manager.
- Handle all phases of the installation project including startup, planning, execution, and closure.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and HSE procedures during installation operations.
- Specify and manage subcontractors according to quality and HSE requirements.
- Monitor changes and additional work in accordance with customer contracts.
- Quantify changes and claims, reporting to the project or department manager as necessary.
- Create and maintain a budget and time schedule for the installation scope.
Key Skills:
- Minimum three years of experience as a Site Manager on medium complexity construction projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with HVDC Converter Stations is a plus.
- Understanding of Terms and Conditions typical in construction contracts.
- Experience in Civil Works, Installation, and/or Commissioning activities.
- Recognized Health, Environment, and Safety certifications and training.
- Strong leadership, goal-oriented, and able to work under stress.
- Effective communication skills for diverse audiences.
