Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a major civil engineering and port infrastructure package. The scope involves complex structural demolition, civil reinstatements, and foundation works within a live maritime facility.
Project Scope Includes:
- Demolition & Reinstatement: Controlled demolition of a building superstructure at the end of a viaduct, basement infill, scaffold protection, and surface reinstatement with concrete and drainage.
- Passenger Boarding Bridge (SPBB) Works: Full demolition and off-site removal of existing SPBB assets, foundation demolition, modifications, and construction of new reinforced concrete foundations.
- Site Logistics: Enabling and temporary works, traffic/pedestrian management, site segregation, and stakeholder coordination within an operational port environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Management: Lead day-to-day site operations, managing a delivery team consisting of Engineers, General Foremen, and sub-contractor trade gangs.
- Workstream Ownership: Drive daily delivery across demolition, temporary works, foundation installs, and surface reinstatements.
- Health & Safety Culture: Drive and enforce a proactive safety culture on site, ensuring compliance with all site-specific rules and risk assessments.
- Programme & Resourcing: Take responsibility for short-term lookaheads, daily site resourcing, and maintaining progress against the contract schedule.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience Proven track record as a Site Manager delivering heavy civil engineering, structural demolition, or marine/port infrastructure projects. Strong background in managing sub-contractors, direct labor, and site engineering teams.
Mandatory Qualifications & Tickets
- Valid CSCS Card (Management).
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
- First Aid at Work.
- Temporary Works Supervisor or Coordinator.
- Crane Appointed Person.
- HSG47 (Underground Services Avoidance).
