Key Responsibilities:

  • Documenting daily site progress
  • Conduct on-site inductions and toolbox talks
  • Actively participate in site and project meetings
  • Closely oversee subcontractor packages on internal works
  • Oversee risk assessment procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Update progress reports and communicate findings to project leaders and stakeholders
  • Manage materials workflow, ensuring supplies are procured and delivered as needed
  • Confirm that tasks are executed according to design drawings, specifications, and contract terms
  • Ensure comprehensive maintenance and timely updates of all essential documentation and reports
  • Establish and continuously update task schedules to ensure they meet project deadlines and milestones
  • Perform site inspections to assess work quality, confirm adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and promptly address any issues to maintain project integrity
  • Coordinate and oversee contractor activities on a daily basis, ensuring strict adherence to project specifications
  • Maintain consistent communication with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to provide timely updates and effectively address any arising issues
  • Uphold site safety protocols, perform regular safety inspections, and ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations by all personnel
  • Monitor comprehensive health and safety procedures to ensure full compliance with regulations

The Opportunity

We are seeking a freelance Site Manager to join an established project team on the major refurbishment of a healthcare facility in Scotland. In close collaboration with the team, you will be responsible for overseeing subcontractors, quality benchmarks and ensuring strict health and safety regulations are adhered to.

What We're Looking For

Experience:

  • Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience of working with a leading construction contractor or subcontractor
  • Previous experience of supervising / managing works on medium to large scale new build / refurbishment projects
  • A history of working on projects within the healthcare sector is advantageous but not essential
