SITE MANAGER – ROOFING / REFURBISHMENT Location: Cumnock Duration: 2 Weeks+ An established specialist contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of a roofing/refurbishment project in Lochgilphead. The successful candidate will manage site operations, subcontractors and trades, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, to programme and to a high standard of quality. This role would suit a hands-on Site Manager with experience in roofing, external refurbishment or related construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Take day-to-day responsibility for the safe and efficient running of the site.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, specialist trades and suppliers.
- Monitor works against the agreed construction programme and maintain project progress.
- Ensure roofing and associated refurbishment works comply with drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety and ensure site procedures are followed.
- Carry out inductions, toolbox talks and site briefings as required.
- Coordinate materials, deliveries, access and site logistics.
- Maintain accurate site records, diaries and progress information.
- Liaise professionally with the Project/Contracts Manager, client, consultants and other stakeholders.
- Identify potential delays, defects or construction issues and ensure these are addressed promptly.
- Manage quality control, snagging, remedial works and project close-out.
- Ensure the site remains organised, professional and compliant throughout the project.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction.
- Experience in roofing, external refurbishment, building envelope or similar projects is highly advantageous.
- Strong ability to manage subcontractors and multiple trades.
- Good knowledge of construction sequencing, site logistics and quality control.
- Strong understanding of current health & safety requirements.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- SMSTS or SSSTS and CSCS.
- First Aid certification is advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
