My client is an established London-based construction contractor who requires an experienced Site Manager to manage a small commercial refurbishment project in London.
The Role
Reporting to a visiting Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the project from start through to completion, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required standard.
The programme has already been produced, and you will be responsible for monitoring progress and making minor adjustments where required to keep the project on track.
The project involves the refurbishment of an existing commercial / industrial building, including the creation of four new offices, internal partitions and associated adaptation works.
- Deliver the project safely from start through to completion
- Day-to-day management and coordination of all subcontractors on site
- Manage and monitor the existing construction programme
- Make minor programme adjustments where required to maintain progress
- Organisation and coordination of subcontractors, materials and deliveries
- Ensure works remain on programme and are completed to the required quality standards
- Ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety Management Plan
- Keeping accurate site records including subcontractor attendance and progress
- Liaising with the visiting Contracts Manager regarding progress, programme and any issues arising on site
- Ensure the project is completed safely, on time and to the required standard
About You
Ideally you will have a proven track record of managing commercial refurbishment projects and will be confident taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of a project from start through to completion.
You must be capable of taking ownership of the site, understanding and managing the construction programme and coordinating multiple subcontractors to ensure the project continues to progress safely and efficiently.
Previous experience managing commercial refurbishment projects involving internal alterations, partitions, M&E installations and finishing trades would be advantageous.
Strong Man Management Skills
Excellent team working and communication skills
Ability to confidently manage a project from start to completion
Strong understanding of construction programmes and sequencing of trades
Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors
Self-motivation with energy and drive
SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid At Work
Previous commercial refurbishment experience
Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
