Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 14 in the engineering department with plans for growth.
  • Oversee the startup and setup of a new modern facility.
  • Project manage the commissioning of new machinery and visit suppliers in Europe.
  • Collaborate with other site engineering managers across the UK.
  • Ensure maintenance delivery aligns with KPIs and budget targets.
  • Implement new SOPs, PPM plans, SSoW, method statements, and training plans.
  • Manage contractors for the existing and new site commissioning.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and asset care management.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance.

Key Skills:

  • 5-10 years of experience as an established engineering manager.
  • Project management experience is beneficial.
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in engineering.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification is ideal.
  • Willingness to travel to other UK sites and visit OEM suppliers in Europe.
  • Experience in FMCG or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to implement new SOPs, SSoW, and PPM plans.
  • Experience in budget management and CAPEX projects.
  • Hands-on approach and team-oriented mindset.

Nottingham GBP65,000 + Bonus Monday : Friday Days Our client is an industrial processing business, part of a larger group, with multiple sites in the UK. They are looking for a proactive and driven Site Engineering Manager to assist with developing the existing team through this exciting time, as they plan and prepare to move into a brand new facility in 2026

Role And Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of X14 people in the engineering department, with the view to grow
  • Be involved in the start up / set up of their new modern facility
  • Project management of commissioning new machinery, visiting suppliers in Europe
  • Work closely with other site engineering managers in the UK, visiting their sites
  • Manage and develop the existing team through the move to the new site
  • Ensure the delivery of maintenance in line with KPis and budget targets
  • Implement new SOPs, PPM plans, SSoW, method statements, training plans
  • Manage contractors coming into the existing site and commissioning the new site
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects, asset care management, health and safety

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

  • Want someone that is going to roll their sleeves up, drive the team, understand there is lots of work to do, with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm
  • Must be an established engineering manager : 5:10 years experience
  • Project management experience would be beneficial
  • Must have an NVQ Level 3 or higher in engineering
  • Ideally hold a NEBOSH / IOSH qualification
  • Happy to travel to other sites in the UK and visit OEM suppliers in Europe
  • Must have worked in a FMCG / manufacturing environment
  • Experience of putting in to place new SOPs, SSoW, PPM plans, supplier / contract selection
  • Comfortable being hands-on, getting stuck in with the team in the new site
  • Previously have managed budgets and CAPEX projects
