Description
A leading multi-billion-pound civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join its delivery team on a major water treatment upgrade framework.
This long-term programme of works offers the opportunity to be involved in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects that will play a key role in improving the UK's water network.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out and surveying for a range of civil engineering activities.
- Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Producing and maintaining accurate QA records, as-built surveys and site documentation.
- Supporting the Site Agent and Project Manager with daily engineering activities.
- Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring technical compliance across the project.
- Resolving engineering and construction issues on site.
- Promoting the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.
Project Experience Required
- Candidates should have demonstrable experience delivering major civil engineering projects within the water, utilities or heavy infrastructure sectors, including several of the following:
- Large diameter pipeline installation.
- Deep drainage and gravity sewer construction.
- Cofferdam installation and temporary works.
- Shaft sinking and deep excavation works.
- Construction of buried reinforced concrete structures.
- Reinforced concrete works and associated formwork.
- Earthworks and heavy civil engineering.
- Water and wastewater treatment infrastructure.
Requirements
- Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on major civils projects.
- Competent with setting out equipment including Leica or Trimble GPS/Total Stations.
- Strong understanding of QA processes, ITPs and as-built records.
- CSCS Card (essential).
- SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).
- Full UK driving licence.
