Summary: This role as a Site Engineer involves contributing to a significant infrastructure project, specifically focusing on road realignments and bridgeworks for the HS2 line. The position requires ensuring quality control, providing technical support, and maintaining safety standards on-site. Collaboration with various stakeholders is essential for the successful delivery of the project. Candidates should possess relevant qualifications and experience in civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting Out: Accurately set out works in accordance with design drawings and specifications for both road and structural elements.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures, ensuring all work meets the highest standards and project specifications.
- Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to the site team, resolving any engineering issues that arise.
- Health & Safety: Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring all site activities are carried out safely and in line with regulations.
- Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate site records, including diaries, progress reports, and as-built drawings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Engineer, Project Manager, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively identify potential issues and implement effective solutions to keep the project on track.
Key Skills:
- A degree or HND in Civil Engineering.
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on large scale infrastructure projects, with a significant focus on roadworks and structures.
- Demonstrable experience working on or similar major rail/highway projects is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in setting out techniques and equipment.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, specifications, and relevant health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A valid CSCS card.
- A valid driving license.
