Summary: The Site Engineer role involves managing engineering tasks and package management for a commercial new build project in Rugby. The position requires the use of personal equipment and entails ensuring compliance with engineering standards, quality control, and health and safety regulations. The engineer will also liaise with subcontractors and maintain accurate project records throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Marking out reference points and lines for construction works using site plans and instruments
- Ensuring all works comply with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Monitoring workmanship and materials; maintaining quality control records, checklists, and inspection test plans
- Assisting in enforcing health and safety standards on-site, reporting risks, and ensuring method statements are followed
- Liaising with subcontractors to ensure works are carried out to the required specifications and timelines
- Identifying on-site technical issues and providing prompt solutions or escalating as required
- Maintaining accurate records, including site diaries, progress reports, as-built drawings, and material deliveries
- Acting as a link between project management, designers, and site operatives, ensuring clear information flow
Key Skills:
- 5+ years’ experience working as a Site Engineer/Setting Out Engineer
- Main Contracting experience beneficial but not essential
- Own equipment or willingness to rent
- Steel frame experience is essential

We are currently searching for a Site Engineer to join the team on a fast-paced commercial new build scheme. Your role would be the engineering and package management of the groundworks, steel frame superstructure, cladding, internal partitions and hard/soft landscaping throughout the build.
The role:
- Marking out reference points and lines for construction works using site plans and instruments
- Ensuring all works comply with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitoring workmanship and materials; maintaining quality control records, checklists, and inspection test plans.
- Assisting in enforcing health and safety standards on-site, reporting risks, and ensuring method statements are followed.
