Site Engineer

Are you an experienced Site Engineer looking for your next challenge on significant infrastructure projects? We are seeking a Site Engineer to join our team on the Highways scheme in Penrith, Cumbria. This is a critical role supporting a major infrastructure project.

Location: Penrith, Cumbria

Salary: GBP35,000 : GBP45,000

As a Site Engineer, Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Providing engineering support to the Site Manager and Project Team for the highways scheme.
• Assisting with setting out works, levelling, and measuring to ensure construction aligns precisely with drawings and specifications.
• Preparing and maintaining detailed site records, including daily reports and as-built drawings.
• Monitoring project progress against the program and budget.
• Ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
• Liaising effectively with project team members, subcontractors, and clients.
• Assisting in the management of materials and resources on site.
• Identifying and reporting any potential problems or risks to the Site Manager.
• Contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.

What Were Looking For

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

• A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering (HNC/HND or Degree).
• Demonstrable experience as a Site Engineer on highways schemes.
• While experience in Cumbria is a plus, its not essential.
• A strong understanding of construction techniques and best practices for highway works.
• Proficiency in using surveying equipment and software (e.g., total stations, GPS, AutoCAD).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
