The Role
Working within the primary project delivery team, you will take ownership of setting-out accuracy, technical QA, and daily engineering control across early-stage civils and site setup. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Setting Out & Dimensional Control: Executing accurate engineering control for enabling works, earthworks, access roads, and site infrastructure using modern GPS and total station equipment.
- Technical QA & Inspections: Managing quality assurance through ITP sign-offs, as-built surveys, photographic records, and raising TQs/RFIs to resolve design queries.
- Site Supervision: Monitoring daily subcontractor outputs, tracking progress against lookahead schedules, and maintaining detailed site diaries.
- HSEQ Compliance: Driving strict safety and environmental standards on site, ensuring full adherence to RAMS and ecological/site constraints.
- Handover & Records: Compiling precise engineering data, surveys, and site documentation to support project delivery milestones.
Essential Requirements
- Heavy Civils / Water Experience: Proven track record as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering projects (heavy earthworks, water infrastructure, utilities, or major highways).
- Equipment Proficiency: Hands-on experience with modern robotic total stations and GPS survey equipment.
- Qualifications: Degree, HND, or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent construction qualification).
- Site Credentials: Valid CSCS card and SMSTS or SSSTS.
- Location & Mobility: Commutable to the Oxford/Abingdon region with a full UK driving licence.
