Site Engineer

Summary: The Site Engineer will oversee a groundworks project for a new build testing facility in Stourbridge for a duration of 6 months. Responsibilities include setting out for various structural elements, managing subcontractors, and ensuring quality control throughout the construction process. The role requires the use of AutoCAD and Total Station, along with maintaining accurate site records and documentation. A valid CSCS card and prior experience in groundworks and earthworks are mandatory for applicants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out and quality checks for structural steelwork, RC works, drainage works, underpinning, earthworks and excavations, groundworks
• Check setting out information
• Establish primary and secondary dimensional control
• Check and record control points
• Complete Permit to Load/Strike
• Requisition materials for in situ concrete works and obtain approvals
• Supervise concrete deliveries including pre and post-pour inspections
• Maintain site diary including maintaining good housekeeping on site
• Manage and co-ordinate construction of all structural elements
• Set out and maintain structural accuracy and main and internal gridlines including levels
• Implement the Project Management Plan, engineering procedures and practices
• Ensure that appropriate quality records are being produced
• Understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Compilation of as-built drawings and create construction drawings for information
• Experience with AutoCAD and Total Station
• Compilation of QA sheets for sub and super structural elements
• Advise on buildability issues as required
• Assist to prepare scope of works and reports as required
• Carry out site surveys, levelling and setting out
• Working out cut and fill quantities
• Managing subcontractors, Cut and Fill/Groundworker/RC/Steel including checking QA

Key Skills:

• Valid CSCS card
• Previous experience in groundworks and earthworks
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Total Station
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
• Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate construction activities
• Experience in quality assurance and control
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to prepare scope of works and reports
• Experience in site surveys and setting out
