Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out setting out and surveying duties across all stages of commercial groundworks packages
  • Accurate installation, checking, and QA of holding down bolts to ensure alignment with structural steel requirements
  • Full responsibility for setting out and overseeing drainage works, including foul, surface water, and attenuation systems
  • Managing and supervising concrete works, including foundations, pile caps, ground beams, slabs, and external hard standings
  • Interpreting and working from technical drawings, specifications, and site documentation
  • Producing and maintaining accurate site records, as-built surveys, and QA documentation
  • Coordinating with site managers, subcontractors, and other engineering staff to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Ensuring all works are carried out in line with health & safety regulations and company procedures
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues on-site proactively

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience working as a Site Engineer within commercial groundworks environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of drainage systems, concrete structures, and structural interfaces (e.g., holding down bolts)
  • Proficient in the use of surveying equipment such as Leica or Trimble GPS/Total Stations
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • CSCS card (essential)
  • SMSTS/SSSTS (advantageous but not essential)
  • Own kit preferred, but can be provided if required
