Summary: The Site EHS Advisor role at Crossaig involves providing essential operational environmental, health, and safety support for high-voltage substation projects. The advisor will ensure compliance with legislative requirements and Siemens Energy standards while promoting a culture of zero harm and sustainability. Responsibilities include leadership, site mobilization, safety systems management, inspections, incident management, training, and emergency response facilitation. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visible and active EHS leadership, championing wellbeing and sustainability.
- Ensure availability of Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Support site management in understanding and signing off on Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
- Conduct routine and non-routine checks, recording outputs and reporting unsafe acts or conditions.
- Gather information for accidents, conduct root cause investigations, and enter data into reporting tools.
- Deliver site inductions and project-specific EHS training and toolbox talks.
- Facilitate local emergency response drills and ensure visibility of emergency response plans.
- Issue instructions to stop work if unsafe acts or procedural failings jeopardize safety.
Key Skills:
- NEBOSH Diploma or Degree in a relevant field; minimum Cert IOSH, IOSH Chartered Membership desirable.
- Detailed knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation for large construction projects.
- Valid safety card (CCNSG Passport, CSCS, or equivalent) and experience with EHS arrangements for Principal Contractors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence teams toward safety goals.
- IT literate with MS Office and capable of managing digital incident reporting workflows.
- Prepared to work a rotation of 10 days on and 4 days off, with 10-hour working days.
- Ideally based in Scotland and able to work at the Crossaig site.

Job Purpose
The Site EHS Advisor is responsible for providing primarily operational EHS support to the Site Manager and the site organization. You will act as a champion for zero harm, environmental protection, and a sustainable future, ensuring all site activities comply with legislative requirements and Siemens Energy standards.
Responsibilities
- Leadership: Formally provide visible and active EHS leadership, acting as a champion for wellbeing and a sustainable future.
- Site Mobilization: Ensure Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements (RAMS) are available and that all EHS project folders are established.
- Safety Systems: Support site management in ensuring all project resources understand and sign off on Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
- Inspections & Monitoring: Undertake routine and non-routine checks to monitor operations, recording outputs and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to the management team.
- Incident Management: Gather information for accidents, conduct root cause investigations where required, and enter data into relevant reporting tools.
- Training: Deliver site inductions to all new personnel and provide project-specific EHS training and toolbox talks.
- Emergency Response: Facilitate local emergency response drills and ensure the visibility of emergency response plans in site offices.

About You
Qualifications: You hold a NEBOSH Diploma or a Degree in a relevant field. You must have a minimum of Cert IOSH, though IOSH Chartered Membership is highly desirable.
Technical Knowledge: You possess detailed knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation pertaining to large construction projects, specifically including CDM 2015 Regulations.
Certifications: You hold a valid safety card (such as CCNSG Passport, CSCS, or equivalent) and have experience implementing EHS arrangements for a Principal Contractor.
Skills: You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and align teams toward common safety goals.
Technical Proficiency: You are IT literate with MS Office and capable of managing digital incident reporting workflows.
Logistics: You are prepared to work a rotation of 10 days on and 4 days off, with 10-hour working days. Accommodation is provided throughout the rotation.
Location: You should ideally be based in Scotland and able to work at the Crossaig site.
