We're looking for an experienced Simulation & Modelling Engineer to join a high-performing team working on a key programme for our customer. This is a contract opportunity to get involved in a fast-paced project where advanced modelling and simulation sits at the heart of the engineering process.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for developing specific components of performance models that support guided weapon systems throughout their lifecycle - from early feasibility to system validation. You'll also work closely with other technical teams (like Guidance, Navigation & Control, Software, Systems Design & Technical Quality) to integrate and test model components.

Your work will involve:

  • Designing, implementing and testing model components
  • Reviewing and documenting your work in line with quality standards
  • Collaborating with internal teams and engaging with model users to ensure models are fit for purpose
  • Contributing to key activities such as feasibility studies, trade-off analyses, ground testing, and trial predictions

This is a hands-on role that requires both technical depth and an ability to operate independently within a cross-functional environment.

What You'll Need

We're looking for someone with a strong background in Engineering - ideally with a degree or Master's in Aerospace, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or Maths - and proven experience in simulation and modelling, preferably on aerospace or defence projects.

Key skills and experience:

  • Proficient with MathWorks tools, especially Simulink, Embedded MATLAB and Stateflow
  • Confident building simulations from mathematical specifications
  • Good understanding of modelling processes and working within a quality-driven environment
  • Familiar with coding standards and development best practice

It would also be great if you have experience with:

  • Rational Team Concert or similar configuration tools
  • DOORS or other requirements management systems
  • Autocode generation from Simulink
  • Programming in C, FORTRAN or Ada

Interested? If you're a seasoned Simulation & Modelling Engineer and want to work on a meaningful programme within a collaborative and technically advanced team, we'd love to hear from you.
