Summary: This role is a contract position for a Signwriter responsible for maintenance work on building stock and infrastructure, providing technical advice, and supervising apprentice painters. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and involves various tasks related to infrastructure maintenance and training. The role is based in Rooty Hill, Australia, with a potential for extension beyond the initial four-month contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain infrastructure in accordance with the relevant standards including the Building Maintenance Service Level Agreement
  • Complete all necessary records associated with the carrying out and completion of work
  • Provide advice and instruction to apprentices and supervise their training
  • Complete appropriate records in relation to purchasing of materials and services and follow the provisions of Purchasing procedures
  • Carry out asset inspections on buildings and record results. Store plant, equipment and materials securely
  • Report any loss or damage to plant, equipment or materials on the appropriate forms
  • Remove graffiti from properties
  • Manufacture signs and banners in the sign shop
  • Carry out any other duties within the range of skills as directed
  • Volunteer management duties if applicable
  • Other duties as directed consistent with the operations

Key Skills:

  • Minimum qualification for this position is a trade certificate
  • Completion of a 4-year apprenticeship
  • Class C Driver's Licence
  • Post Trade or Advanced Certificate in a related area - Desirable not essential

Primary Purpose of the Role

This role is primarily responsible for the maintenance work to building stock and other infrastructure and to provide technical advice and supervise the training of apprentice painters.

Act in accordance with the NSW WHS Act 2011, WHS Regulation 2011 and the Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Management System to ensure a safe place of work.
