We are seeking a Shona-speaking tutor to support a 14-year-old learner with complex needs who is based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire.
Learner Profile
The learner relocated to the UK from Zimbabwe and comes from a Zimbabwean family where Shona is the primary language spoken at home. The learner has very limited English, so the tutor must be fluent in Shona to enable effective communication and learning.
The learner is friendly, resilient, and motivated to achieve positive outcomes for her future. She has settled well into education in the UK and benefits from a supportive, small-group learning environment.
Additional Needs
- Severely visually impaired (registered blind)
- Diagnosed with Optic Neuropathy
- Able to read Braille
- Requires a patient, understanding, and adaptable tutor who can provide accessible learning support
Tutor Requirements
