Shift Coordinator

Role Overview

The Shift Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of the temporary workforce, ensuring associates are supported and operational requirements are met across both day and night shifts.

Acting as the first point of contact for associates and client stakeholders, the role focuses on attendance management, employee relations support, scheduling, payroll, holidays and general workforce coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support associates with assignment-related and employee relations queries.
  • Manage holiday requests and maintain accurate holiday records.
  • Process payroll information and resolve pay-related queries.
  • Monitor attendance, lateness and absence levels.
  • Manage sickness reporting and conduct return-to-work interviews.
  • Create and maintain shift schedules to meet client requirements.
  • Fill short-notice absences and support workforce planning activities.
  • Conduct associate welfare checks and engagement activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company processes.
  • Build strong working relationships with associates, the client and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide shift handovers and operational updates.
  • Support onboarding, inductions and recruitment activities when required.
  • Produce and maintain workforce reports and metrics.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service while ensuring operational continuity.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in recruitment, workforce planning, administration or a customer-focused environment.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Experience managing attendance, payroll or employee-related processes is desirable.
