Summary: The SharePoint/Office 365 Consultant role involves working in a hybrid capacity at a Tier 1 bank in Canary Wharf for a 6-month contract, with a focus on enhancing SharePoint and Office 365 applications. The consultant will collaborate with development teams to implement Agile methodologies, conduct technical workshops, and improve development processes. Key responsibilities include code reviews, performance enhancements, and documentation creation. The position requires a strong technical background in SharePoint, Office 365, and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with the team and the wider development team to adopt Agile methodologies and provide operational support for existing SharePoint/Office 365 applications.
  • Collaborating with Development and Architecture teams to establish best practices for SharePoint/Office 365.
  • Leading technical and design workshops within the team.
  • Conducting code reviews to improve team skills.
  • Planning and estimating upcoming work volumes.
  • Contributing to the rollout of new tools and applications to enhance development processes.
  • Addressing performance, scalability, and security issues during design and implementation.
  • Following Change Management Control procedures for updates in Production systems and providing Maintenance reports for non-Production environments.
  • Defining and configuring SharePoint/Office 365 environments in Disaster Recovery sites.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and upskilling of team members.
  • Developing Office 365 tools including SharePoint Online, PowerApps, Power Automate, and SPFX or ReactJS.
  • Analyzing business requirements and providing constructive feedback.
  • Creating documentation detailing deliverables from relevant teams.
  • Providing scripts for database enquiry languages like T-SQL and PL/SQL for data analysis and exporting based on business requirements.

Key Skills:

  • Experience with SharePoint and Office 365 technologies.
  • Proficiency in PowerApps, Power Automate, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to conduct code reviews and lead technical workshops.
  • Experience in performance, scalability, and security enhancements.

Role - SharePoint/ Office 365 Consultant

Duration - 6 months with very likely extension

Location - Hybrid / Canary Wharf - 3 days per week in a Canary Wharf office

Rate - £415 per day (Inside IR35)

Tech Stack - Sharepoint Office 365 Power apps Power Automate HTML, Javascript, CSS

Tasks - Working with the team and the wider development team to both grow and to help adopt Agile like methodologies with practical implementation alongside the daily operation support people for existing SharePoint/Office 365 applications.

Working with the wider Development and Architecture teams to develop and establish best practices of SharePoint/Office 365.

Contributing to and regularly leading the technical and design workshops within the team.

Critically and actively conducting code review procedures to ensure improvement in skills across the team.

Participating in exercises to both plan and estimate upcoming work volumes.

Contributing to the rollout of new tools and applications that will improve the development processes.

Enhancing performance, scalability and security issues across the design and implementation phases.

Following "Change Management Control procedures" to get approvals for any updates in the Production systems and providing "Maintenance reports" for non-Production environments.

Participating in both definition and configuration of SharePoint/Office 365 environments in the Disaster Recovery sites.

Encouraging and supporting the continuous improvement and upskilling of all members in the team, as well as the wider development department

Development of Office 365 tools including SharePoint Online (PowerApps, Power Automate and SPFX or ReactJS).

Analysing of business requirements and providing constructive feedback.
