Summary: The role of SharePoint Consultant involves defining governance policies and procedures for SharePoint usage within an Energy company. The consultant will be responsible for implementing access controls, conducting access reviews, enhancing functionality, and migrating sites from Classic to Modern SharePoint. The position is primarily remote with occasional travel to Preston and is offered on a 6-month contract basis. The role is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define policies and procedures for SharePoint usage, aligned with existing Data Management policies.
- Establish clear roles and responsibilities (administrators, content owners, end users).
- Develop a structured information architecture including taxonomy for sites, libraries, and lists.
- Implement permissions and access controls based on SP ENW's Data Handling Policy.
- Create sustainable training guides for effective SharePoint usage.
- Introduce a site creation request process via the ITs Online portal, including basic template structures.
- Review and configure the SharePoint search function as appropriate.
- Initiate access reviews with site owners of overshared sites.
- Review admin credentials.
- Develop a site owner review process with context-specific email prompts.
- Generate governance reports for SharePoint Admins and Site Owners to identify oversharing.
- Explore Microsoft automation tools to streamline access reviews in alignment with IDAM and Purview projects.
- Leverage Microsoft automation tools to support data management compliance.
- Enhance SharePoint functionality to meet compliance requirements.
- Migrate sites from Classic to Modern SharePoint.
- Archive sites where appropriate.
Key Skills:
