Key Responsibilities:
- Validate, reconcile, and process settlement data related to wholesale energy markets (electricity and/or gas).
- Monitor and analyze discrepancies in trade and invoice data, resolving exceptions in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and market obligations.
- Liaise with internal trading, finance, and risk teams as well as external stakeholders such as counterparties and market operators.
- Support month-end close activities and reporting related to settlements.
- Provide insights to improve settlement accuracy and reduce operational risk.
- Document processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in settlement operations, ideally within the energy sector.
- Strong understanding of UK energy markets (e.g., imbalance settlement, trading cycles, market participants).
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas); knowledge of SQL or data analytics tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team in a hybrid environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
