Summary: The Sessional Lecturer in Counselling at Kingston College will be responsible for teaching various counselling courses, including degree programs and introductory courses. The role requires a professional qualification in counselling or psychotherapy, along with teaching experience and the ability to provide tutorial support. The position is part-time with variable hours and emphasizes creativity, organization, and effective communication with students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach across all levels of counselling courses from Monday to Friday.
- Mark assignments and provide tutorial support to students.
- Plan, prepare, and carry out administrative tasks effectively within deadlines.
- Assess students’ work and skills practice.
- Support, challenge, mentor, and motivate students in their learning journey.
Key Skills:
- Professional qualification in Integrative Relational counselling or Psychotherapy, or Children & young people (minimum L6 Diploma or Honours Degree).
- Practising member/registrant of BACP, UKCP, NCPS, or equivalent professional UK body.
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
- Recent teaching experience and a teaching qualification.
- Supervision qualification or experience in providing supervision in counselling or life coaching.
- Good IT skills and ability to respond flexibly to changing circumstances.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
