Summary: The ServiceNow & CMDB Specialist is responsible for managing and enhancing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure accurate and trusted data that supports IT service management and operational processes. This role requires a strong understanding of ServiceNow and ITIL Configuration Management principles, along with the ability to enforce governance and data quality standards. The position involves configuring discovery, service mapping, and integrations while providing insights on CMDB health. The role is fractional, requiring a commitment of 3-4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and enhance the ServiceNow CMDB in line with best practice (eg CSDM)
- Define and enforce CMDB governance and data quality standards
- Configure and support discovery, service mapping, and integrations
- Maintain CI life cycle and relationship accuracy
- Provide reporting and insights on CMDB health and compliance
- Act as the ServiceNow CMDB subject-matter expert
Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on ServiceNow CMDB experience
- Solid understanding of ITIL Configuration Management
- Experience with CSDM, Discovery, and Service Mapping
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and documentation skills
