Summary: The Service Transition Manager will oversee the implementation of new IT services and large IT projects into the live business environment, ensuring smooth transitions and effective stakeholder relationships. This role involves developing and supporting the Service Design and Transition Process within Business Technology Services, with full accountability for the ITIL Service Design and Transition lifecycle. The position requires collaboration with various teams to understand IT requirements and manage service acceptance criteria. The role is hybrid, based in Peterborough with a mix of office and homeworking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and support the ABF Service Design and Transition Process including necessary documentation.
- Support the creation and execution of an end-to-end Service Design & Transition Process in line with ITIL best practices.
- Create relevant ITIL Service Design and ITIL Service Transition documentation such as Service Design Package, Service Transition, Support Models, and Risk Management.
- Collaborate with Service Delivery areas to understand and represent their views regarding technology changes.
- Engage with business areas to gain an in-depth understanding of their IT requirements.
- Act as a single point of contact for IT within IT-Service Delivery for all IT Programmes and Projects.
- Provide guidance in defining roles and responsibilities for new/changed services and ensure comprehensive RACI Matrix delivery.
- Agree and manage the Service Acceptance Criteria to be delivered as part of the project.
- Ensure accountability for the delivery and acceptance of project tasks by both Project and Support Teams.
Key Skills:
- Qualification to ITIL v3 or v4 to Foundation Level or above.
- Ability to define and develop a Service Design Package and transition complex IT Projects into Live Support.
- Significant experience in capturing, documenting, and analyzing IT requirements.
- Effective communication and presentation skills for various technical levels and audience types.
- Advanced stakeholder management skills, influencing stakeholders from Technical & Operational Team Leads to Director Level.
- Ability to act on own initiative and take ownership of projects or issues.

Are you an experienced Transition Manager that can implement new IT services and large IT projects into the live business environment as smoothly as possible? Are you able to build effective relationships with multiple stakeholders and specialist teams in a enterprise environment? Are you well versed in acceptance criteria, early life support, support models and risk management? This is a great opportunity to work closely with our Service Design and Transition Manager to develop and deliver the Service Design and Transition offering within Business Technology Services (BTS). In this role, you will have full accountability for the lifecycle of the ITIL Service Design and Transition ensuring projects are introduced to live operations in a supportable way.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and support the ABF Service Design and Transition Process including any documentation required.
- Support with the creation and execution of an end-to-end Service Design & Transition Process in line with ITIL best practice
- Support with the creation of all relevant ITIL Service Design and ITIL Service Transition documentation like Service Design Package, Service Transition, Support Models and Introduction Plan, Risk Management etc
- Work closely with all areas of Service Delivery in order to understand and represent their views and protect their processes in broader discussions concerning technology changes
- Work closely with focused business areas in order to gain an in depth understanding of their IT requirements.
- Provide a single point of contact for IT within IT-Service Delivery for all IT Programmes and Projects, facilitating further discussion with subject matter experts where appropriate.
- Provide guidance in agreeing roles and responsibilities for new/changed services and ensure projects deliver a comprehensive RACI Matrix.
- Agree and manage the Service Acceptance Criteria to be delivered as part of the project.
- Ensuring both Project and Support Teams are held accountable for the delivery and acceptance of project tasks.
What You'll Bring

Location Hybrid, a mix of office and homeworking. This role will be based at our Peterborough offices on the Lynchwood Business Park.
