Summary: The Service Owner role involves delivering high-quality digital services while balancing user needs, business priorities, and technical risks. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality digital services aligned with Digital by Default Service Standards
- Define and communicate a clear service vision and roadmap
- Balance user needs, business priorities, and technical risks
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across product, design, engineering, and operations
- Engage with senior stakeholders and leadership, representing the service area
- Drive adoption of digital culture and best practices
- Own and manage Legacy systems, including modernisation strategies
- Ensure services are efficient, scalable, and user-focused
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing digital teams
Key Skills:
- Strong user focus and understanding of service design principles
- Proven strategic ownership of digital services
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
- Knowledge of service life cycle management
- Solid operational management capabilities
- Ability to take ownership of complex problems and deliver solutions
- Experience leading multidisciplinary digital teams
- Excellent stakeholder management, including senior leadership
- Ability to influence decision-making at organisational level
- Exposure to Legacy system transformation
- Understanding of cloud-based and data-driven delivery models
