Summary: The Data Architect role at a leading global financial services firm involves overseeing the data infrastructure and managing the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB). The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure data architecture aligns with enterprise guidelines and best practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data architecture, particularly within IT Service Management frameworks. This role is essential for maintaining data integrity and compliance within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the data infrastructure to extract and organize data for authorized access.
- Identify and track internal and external data sources, collaborating with stakeholders to validate data needs.
- Maintain hygiene in the CMDB and advocate for data architecture aligned with enterprise architecture guidelines.
- Work with various groups including Enterprise Architecture and Data Managers, reporting on data architecture status.
- Establish a data architecture working group framework for documenting requirements and overseeing implementation.
- Produce documentation and plans to firm standards, ensuring deliverables are met and risks controlled.
- Manage the data design of the firm's CMDB through operationalization of the CSDM.
- Collect, track, and recommend solutions for new or changing data requirements.
- Publish and present CMDB design and data movement architecture reports.
- Audit the CMDB for compliance with approved design and hygiene standards.
- Identify areas for improvement in current systems and coordinate with various management teams.
- Document and track change control milestones and tasks for multiple projects.
- Develop a network of relationships across technology divisions with data management professionals.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a data architect or leading a data architect team.
- Minimum of 2 years experience with ServiceNow.
- Experience with Incident, Problem, Request, Change, Release, IT Asset, Knowledge, and Reporting functions.
- Strong collaboration and feedback skills.
- Good problem-solving skills with a methodical approach.
- Adaptability to fast-changing demands and environments.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
- Understanding of various technology system implementation methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile).
- Strong time management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Project).
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Experience in financial industries or consulting to financial industries.
- Program Management and/or Agile development experience or certification.
- ServiceNow Admin and Developer training and certification.
- ITIL experience or certification.
