Summary: The Service Manager for the Homeless Prevention Department will lead a team of Homeless Caseworkers as part of a new Homeless Transformation Project. The role requires significant experience in managing complex homelessness services and developing effective commissioning plans. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations and ensure quality in case management while collaborating with various partners to enhance service delivery. Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage a team of Homeless Caseworkers within a busy environment.
  • Develop and implement effective commissioning plans to reduce homelessness under the Homeless Reduction Act 2017.
  • Coordinate day-to-day service operations for housing options and homelessness prevention.
  • Ratify and quality check case management and decision letters issued.
  • Cover front line manager's duties as needed.
  • Lead multiple complex projects involving various partners, including senior managers.
  • Assist in developing partnership working for a holistic No Wrong Door approach in the Housing Options Service.

Key Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience managing a similar team in a local authority Homeless Prevention service.
  • Significant experience in developing and implementing commissioning plans.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in coordinating complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to ensure quality in case management processes.
  • Excellent communication and partnership development skills.
