Summary: The Service Director for Adults Social Care is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services that promote independence and choice for adults in need of social care. This role involves strategic leadership, operational delivery, and ensuring compliance with council and national policies. The director will provide expert advice to senior leadership and collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance service integration and community support. The position requires a commitment to safeguarding and continuous improvement in adult social care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead accountability for achieving high-quality, cost-effective adult social care services.
- Provide strategic leadership for operational delivery and commissioning requirements.
- Offer high-quality advice to the Executive Director and other stakeholders on adult social care matters.
- Inspire and lead a diverse workforce to deliver personalized adult social care services.
- Ensure effective adult safeguarding procedures and policies are in place.
- Develop operational social care services in partnership with the Principal Social Worker.
- Support early intervention and prevention services for those in need.
- Facilitate integration of community health services and adult social care.
- Participate in emergency planning and business contingency arrangements.
- Provide professional advice on operational delivery and service development.
- Lead changes required in social care and health for integrated service delivery.
- Collaborate with internal partners to define future models of care.
- Contribute to strategic business planning within the Adults, Health and Commissioning Directorate.
- Accountable for service delivery within the legislative framework.
