Service Desk (Network & Infrastructure) - Central London - Cisco Gold Partner

Role Overview

A well-established IT services and managed solutions provider is seeking a Service Desk Analyst to join their internal IT function.

This is a great entry point for someone with 1-2 years' experience looking to build a long-term career in IT, with genuine exposure to core infrastructure technologies including Cisco networking, VMware, and Dell server environments, and a clear path toward progressing into network support and infrastructure-focused roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, prioritise, and resolve incoming support tickets from internal end users
  • Provide 1st line support across hardware, software, mobile devices, printers, and core business applications
  • Handle user provisioning and access requests, including Active Directory, M365, Exchange Online, shared mailboxes, and distribution groups
  • Support the wider Infrastructure and Network teams with hands-on tasks, building exposure to more advanced technical work
  • Investigate and troubleshoot technical issues, escalating to infrastructure or application teams where required
  • Track and manage tickets in line with agreed SLAs, ensuring clear documentation throughout

Essential Skills/Experience

  • 1-2 years' experience in a service desk, technical support, or IT administration role
  • A tech-related degree
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Windows environments and M365 services
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, permissions, and general user administration
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable supporting users at all levels of the business
  • Genuine interest in developing skills across Cisco Networking, VMware, and Dell Server technologies

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • ITIL Foundation or experience working within an ITIL-aligned environment
  • Any exposure to Cisco switching, routing, or wireless troubleshooting
  • Any exposure to VMware (VMs, vSphere, or similar)
  • Exposure to Apple macOS support

Additional Information

  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driving licence required
  • Occasional travel required (up to approx. 25%), including some international travel
  • A genuine opportunity to build a foundation in service desk support with a clear route into network and infrastructure specialisms

Contract Details

Location: Farringdon, Central London. 3 days on-site, 2 days remote work

Day Rate: £150/day
