Service Desk (Cyber Remediation)

Rate: £250 (Umbrella/Inside IR35)

Duration: 6 months Initial

Job Description

We are seeking a Service Desk Analyst to support a large-scale Enterprise Information Protection (EIP) remediation programme for a global financial services client.

Working closely with Cybersecurity, IT Support and Business stakeholders, you will act as the primary point of contact for end users impacted by data remediation activities.

You will help users understand and resolve issues relating to file permissions, access clean-up activities, sensitive data exposure and information protection initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong Service Desk, IT Support or End User Computing background who enjoys helping users, coordinating remediation activities and driving successful outcomes across a large organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for user enquiries relating to data remediation activities.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to users via email, Teams and telephone.
  • Guide users through remediation activities including access removal, file clean-up and data protection actions.
  • Assist users with OneDrive, shared drives, file permissions and Microsoft collaboration tools.
  • Track remediation progress and maintain accurate records within ticketing and workflow systems.
  • Perform initial issue triage and escalate complex cases to Cybersecurity or technical support teams.
  • Support programme-wide remediation campaigns and completion reporting.
  • Develop and maintain user guidance, knowledge articles and FAQ documentation.
  • Provide support during remediation workshops, office hours and post-implementation activities.
  • Ensure all user interactions align with organisational security and data protection requirements.

Required Experience

  • 1-3 years experience within Service Desk, IT Support, Help Desk or Technical Support environments.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 users.
  • Understanding of Active Directory users, groups and access permissions.
  • Familiarity with shared drives, file permissions and access management concepts.
  • Experience using ticketing or service management platforms.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously within a structured environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting cyber security, remediation or compliance programmes.
  • Exposure to Active Directory access reviews or permission clean-up exercises.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft OneDrive, SharePoint or Teams.
  • Knowledge of information protection or data governance initiatives.
  • Experience working within Financial Services or highly regulated environments.
