Summary: The Service Designer role focuses on developing Service Design Packs (ITIL3) for Voice & Video services, requiring collaboration with various teams to create comprehensive service-oriented documentation. The position involves producing key deliverables such as Service Design Packs, Solution Specifications, and Product Roadmaps while navigating complex security environments. The role is contract-based for 12 months and requires on-site presence in Corsham with some travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Service Design Packs (ITIL3) for Voice & Video (V&V) Services.
- Interface with Users, Defence Digital Eng Ops staff, and the Fixed connectivity team.
- Produce two Voice & Video Service Design Packs (SDPs).
- Develop the ‘as built’ Solution Specification for Operational V&V systems.
- Create Voice & Video Product Roadmap(s) for the V&V Product Owner.
- Develop System Knowledge Articles (KAs), Work Instructions (WIs), and User Guides (UGs) for a small V&V Service.
Key Skills:
- Experience in managing Strategic Networks and Bearer Services.
- Understanding of the differences between ‘Legacy’ and ‘New’ systems.
- Ability to work under high pressure with conflicting priorities.
- Experience in complex environments with challenging security conditions.
- Previous experience in developing systems, solutions, or services as part of a larger capability.
- V&V experience is advantageous but not essential.
